With this new photographic series I try to visualize a transformation between a two dimensional form and a possible four dimensional space. Inspired by the short story ‘And He Built a Crooked House’ by Robert A. Heinlein, published in 1941. In which a house is built in the shape of an ‘inverted double cross’ (with eight cube-shaped rooms, arranged as a stack of four cubes with another four cubes surrounding the second cube on the stack) and this structure is changed by an earthquake into a tesseract. As a result, the original spaces do not connect where they mathematically ‘should’ be.
