screened colors and their permission to exist

With this series I challenge the conventional boundaries of the photographic process. In which I experiment, with often unusual means and artefacts, to transcend the boundaries of visual perception. Through these means; the computer screen as a light source by means of slide show mode, moving camera, longer shutter speed etc. – and artefacts; moiré, and digital noise – an image is created that surprises both the maker and (hopefully) the viewer.
With distorted geometric shapes, overlapping layers and movement, the title plays with both the technical and the emotional aspects. Screened refers to the screen, from which the shapes are photographed, and the evaluation. Permission to Exist emphasizes a more philosophical or emotional dimension, as if it is about more than colors – such as a reflection on what is accepted or allowed in a broader context. I hope to evoke a sense of both control and vulnerability – as if the colors have undergone a process of selection or approval, but still have to justify their own right to exist.
