With the ‘appliance’ series De Haan examines the deformation and alteration created by the camera as it translates two-dimensional shapes into a three-dimensional image. A single shot is taken from a slide show consisting of two or more images which were in advance designed for this project. The camera has been moved and/or the zooming function of the lens is used in order to create the three-dimensional image.
